A day after India tested the new missile from waters off its Vishakahpatnam coast, Pakistan Navy chief Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir described the development as a "very serious issue" as it was aimed at deploying nuclear weapons at sea.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at the shipyard in Karachi, Tahir said: "Well my reaction is that this is going to start a new arms race in the region. We are aware of these developments (which) are taking place with a view to putting nuclear weapons at sea and this is a very serious issue."
He said the testing of the new missile would have an impact on the entire region.
The Pakistan Navy is tracking India's missile development programme and will take steps to counter the impact of the testing of the undersea missile, he said.
The Indian undersea missile, codenamed K-15, has a range of 700 km and was fired from a pontoon immersed in the sea as India did not have a submarine for such an exercise.
India is the fifth country after the US, Russia, France and China to possess such a capability. The launch of the K-15 will enhance India's nuclear deterrence, as sea-launched missiles will be a crucial part of the country's second-strike capability.

Ratingtoday, it is necessary for india that we have strong defense against any country, and as far as pakistan is concerned then i believe that india develop this technology for defense only because india is not a country who attacked first
It is Pakis who kept enimosity towards India. All the war between two nations, it was started by Pakistan. Do the Pak officials expect India should not do any thing from the Global point of view and security? Pakistan is aways safe as long as they keep themselves. The problem starts when they take step beyond their reach and failed flat! Pakistan did the same thing with their wester border and meddle with Afghanistan, today Pak is getting kicked in rear by same Talibanis whom they supported in past!
If Pakistan had better weapons and India's had failed the expectations of effectiveness,in other word's inferior to Pakistani weapons then why have they lost wars though they initiated by Pakistan!Moreover India does have indigenous weapons production of many sort but I don't hink if Pakistan produces/manufactures bi-cycles at its own.Moreover why Pakistan must see India as agressive while India has never started any offensive against Pak and will never do so but defend/react?Why can't Pakistan be competative in the field of economy and infrastructure like initiatives?Is it not true that Pakistan is still in the same shape the it was after partition?Poverty is on both sides but India has progressed that the most of the world and all major powers are looking forward to joint ventures and big projects.Keep on looking Indian missiles which are the product of secondary plans while the supreme policy remains economy,betterment of infrastructure,health care and eliminating poverty.Pakistani policies are entirely contrary to it which will further damage its reputation(only if there is some left)and will remain centuries behind.Indians have nothing against Pakistan and believe in prosperous and progressive neighbours which will help India but its Pakistani unfounded concerns that annoys.

Pakistans missile n atomic technology is far far better then Indians.Indian homemade tanks,fighter planes n missile all failed accuracy tests n its a fact.Pakistan is the exporter of technology.Egypt,North korea,Iran n many more countries r gettin technology from Pak.Indians r just jealous.Pakistans technology is indegenous while Indians beg infront of hungry broken Russia 4 money,food n 3rd class technology.

Normally I avoid reading Pakistani news showing concern to India's build-up or whatsoever because it stinks of jealousy and over-estimated sense of parity.India was and is far ahead in nuclear detterence and technology while Pakistan still remains a toddler.To be exact Pakistan may acquire/purchase such missiles from China that too with USAmerican money or by giving every space to China which it needs to import oil and gas from gulf region but it will never reach that stage to claim parity with India.Especially under the plight of affairs Pakistan is going through Admiral Tahir should better keep mum.He should calculate seriously the consequences if and when the USA stops giving aid.Having lost all wars and still prancing is shameless act.Moreover I find Pakistan is simply tilting at windmills.Funny thing is during last three months Pakistan tested(?)few missiles and never showed any concern but any time India does they show great concern and that too in exaggerated way.Without wasting a second Pakistan must mention things like Balance of power,impact on whole region and triggering weapons race and so on.Not realizing that its only Pakistan which is the real cause of all problems in this region.India has its concerns but only with terrorists and insurgency coming from Pakistan otherwise its simply not of any mention.Not to forget India has play much greater role in this world and has to defend its expanded borders with other nations too.
Let get on it.. Arms race starts when two countries start producing their own indegenous weopons. When Pak cannot design any weapon on it's own, how can it be called "Arms Race"? Go, beg some more missiles from China and stabilize your country from terrorism.. Then start talking about Arms Race.

Pakistan is giving too much importance to itself. It is not the only country India has to deal with. Pakistan is of no importance to India. One bomb will do to wipe off Pakistan.
