The rise has been mainly on account of increase in prices of fruits, vegetables, imported edible oils, tea, sea fish, cement and iron and steel and spices, though the index for fuel items declined during the week.
The wholesale price index-based inflation has continued to rise despite efforts being taken by the government and RBI to tame prices through fiscal and monetary measures.
The inflation was 4.32 per cent a year ago during the corresponding week.

Seems that government measures have started working. This week rise is only .21 percent compared to last two hikes of .37 and 2.30 per cent
Please IE, do not bother us with such trivia as inflation, interest rates, slowing growth, poverty, Naxals/maoist/Islamic violence etc we are just on the verge of signing n-deal which will give us 6% electricity in 15 years time.
