Chandigarh, January 29: It was celebration time at Harbhajan's Singh's house in Jalandhar on Tuesday, with his mother terming the dropping of racial abuse charges against her son as the "victory of truth".

"I am very happy today. It is the victory of truth," sid Avtar Kaur in Jalandhar.

"I was anxious before the verdict came, but now I am more at peace," Kaur, who was struggling to hold back her tears, said.

She said the family would go to a nearby gurudwara to pay obeisance and thank the almighty.

"I knew God was with us and I had full faith that my son would come out clean," she said.

Kaur said Harbhajan would be calling her later in the day and she would wish him and the team good luck for the forthcoming ODI series.

"The unity shown by the team, who rallied behind Harbhajan, is highly commendable. The Board, too, fully backed him up and the support he got from everyone, including people of this country and the media, gave him strength," she said.

Kaur, who said she did not care much about minor penalty imposed on Harbhajan, also felt the verdict would give a "new strength" to the whole team, which would help them put even better performance in the upcoming triangular series.

Well-wishers and Harbhajan's fans thronged his house with boxes of sweets and planned to celebrate in the evening.

"We are planning a party in the evening and everybody will perform bhangra," a relative of the cricketer told reporters.
