The film, which has Sylvester Stallone, Bondgirl Richards and Brendon Routh on the star cast, will be released globally this Friday, a new achievement for a Hindi film.
"Kambakkht Ishq will be released in 2030 screens globally. That is quite a big release for Hindi Cinema," Akshaya Kumar said in an interview.
"It is absolutely a Bollywood Masala film, with a lot of comedy, a lot of emotions, action and battle of sexes, both male and female, trying to show who is stronger, and how they fall in love. That is when they realise Kambakkht Ishq Ho Gaya," the actor said.
Answering queries, the action hero said the entire film was shot in the Universal Studio in Los Angeles and some portion in Italy in three months at an estimated cost of Rs 35 to 40 crore.
Hoping that the audience would enjoy the film immensely,he said "it is completely a commercial film - come and enjoy - and return home with a smile on your face. "I have tried to make people laugh."
On stars like Sylvester Stallone, the man who made antisocial, underdog heroes like ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’, Brandon Routh (Superman) and Denise Richards, a former Bond girl, Akshay said, "I had a great time with them. They are great professionals. I enjoyed working with each of them. They are there not because they are Hollywood actors but they are required for the film."
"They are very down to earth people, no doubt they are so great and so famous."
In the film Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) is a swashbuckling stuntman in Hollywood who lives by the mantra "women are only good for two things... making love and making
love".
Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) is a firebrand who is more than able to stare down the most arrogant male with her caustic wit and sardonic tongue.. her firm belief is "there's no such thing as love."
So what happens when the two people who hate each other the most meet at Simrita's best friend Kamini's and Viraj's brother Lucky's wedding?.. a wedding that both Viraj and Simrita are violently opposed to and desperate to stop.

I fail to understand why and how on earth can the film makers waste so much of their money and time in making such a pathetic movie. We watched the movie last night (It released yesterday in Sydney) and it was really pathetic. The only good thing about the movie were the songs, apart from that it was a big waste of our money and time. New York was much better - atleast it was worth watching and we could relate ourselves to it. But this was a complete faltu movie. If you ask us - we would give it a 1.5 stars just because of the songs. It's high time Akshay moves back into Action and Kareena puts on some weight or maybe retire....
