This Friday, as many as three new Hindi films were confirmed -- Mehbooba, Mukhbir and Goodluck. In fact, the producers of Mehbooba and Goodluck have gone all out to promote their films.
With Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na faring exceptionally well and some multiplexes increasing its shows from next week onwards, it has resulted in the new releases not getting the theatres. Resultantly, the makers of Goodluck have decided to shift its release to 1st August. That makes it Mehbooba and Mukhbiir this Friday [July 11], besides two major Hollywood openers, Hancock and Kung Fu Panda.
In the future too, the release dates of a number of films are expected to go topsy-turvy for this reason.



In these days of pirated DVDs, majority of the people who own DVD players see a film realeased the very next day in the comfort of their homes. These DVDs have become as cheap as Rs.30/- for four films. The quality, initially, may be bad but it improves after two three weeks and you can get even a 5.1 sound track DVD for the same price. A TV channel with brand new movies or pay per view may not be bad idea for small budget films.A company like Reliance (now in films) can come out with a channel to showcase small budget films first day first show and pay per view for others and also promote their own production. Delivery via internet cannot be ruled out either..
