Incensed Congress MPs from Telangana region also demanded action party MP Vijayawada, who has resigned his Lok Sabha, and launched a "fast-unto-death" in his home town on Tuesday.
The fissures in the state party came to the forefront when Reddy, MP from Kadapa in Rayalaseema region and son of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, rushed to the well in the Lok Sabha to join TDP MPs who were protesting against the decision to carve out a separate state of Telangana. He borrowed a placard from a TDP member which said "We want united AP".
Jagan was joined by some of his party colleagues from Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra but his action incensed Congress MPs from Telangana, who immediately met Defence Minister A K Antony and demanded disciplinary action against him for joining the TDP protest.
"We do not like the way Jaganmohan joined hands with the TDP. It is indiscipline. We have conveyed to Antony," Sarvey Satyanarayana, Congress MP from Malkajgiri in Telangana told reporters after the meeting. Another MP Prabhakar echoed similar views.
Satyanarayana demanded action against both Reddy and Rajagopal for defying the party high command which has decided on Telangana.
Manda Jagannatgh, MP from Nagarkurnool, said the decision to create a separate state was taken by the party high command and the action of Jaganmohan and others go against party President Sonia Gandhi.
Ponnam Prabhakar, Convener of the AP Congress MPs, termed the action of the Congress MPs joining hands with TDP as "indiscipline" and called the agitation in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema as "stage managed".
Under attack, Jaganmohan said he stood for a united AP and that he was forced to exhibit his support for a unified AP as he did not want TDP alone to take the credit.
He accused TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu of being the "real culprit" for the current situation in the state. "Had Chandrababu Naidu not said that he would support the resolution for bifurcation of the state the situation would not have risen to this level," he said.
In Hyderabad, non-Telangana Congress MLAs, who have resigned their membership of the Assembly, kept up pressure on the issue when they met Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy and urged him to accept it. The Speaker, however, did not give an indication of what he plans to do with it.
Meanwhile, Rajagopal began his indefinite hunger strike in Vijayawada in support of a unified Andhra Pradesh while YSR's brother Vivekanand Reddy began a fast in Hyderabad.
"I wanted to undertake the fast in Hyderabad yesterday but I was not allowed to do so, I am launching my fast here," Rajagopal told reporters.
Asserting that the majority of the people do not want division of Andhra Pradesh, he demanded that UPA Government make a statement that the state would not be bifurcated.
"A resolution should be introduced in the Assembly for Telangana. It should have been done yesterday. About 225 of the 294 MLAs are opposed to Telangana. The resolution is will be lost and things would have been clear," the Vijayawada MP said.
Hailing late Chief ministers N T Rama and Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for keeping Telugu-speaking people united, Rajagopal demanded that Naidu and actor-turned politician Chiranjeevi should end their support for Telangana.
Praising the leadership of Rajagopal, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed for spearheading the agitation for united Andhra Pradesh announced that they will lay siege to the national highway in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the 'fast unto death' launched by TDP MLAs D Umamaheshwara Rao and others in Vijayawada in support of united state entered third day. Rao demanded that Lok Sabha members resign from their posts to mount pressure on Centre.
Also, protests and bandhs continued across coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions against the division of the state.
Agitators carried out programmes to hail the sacrifice made by Potti Sriramulu in view of his death anniversary on Tuesday. Sriramulu had laid down his life by holding a fast unto death for the formation of a state for Telugu speaking people.
Rallies, relay hunger strikes and other forms of protests and demonstrations are being held in all districts of the non-Telangana regions opposing bifurcation of state.

The reason it was not developed was the funds were more allocated to projects within Andhra. Even in the past leaders tried to bring this to the attention of the government, but affluent andhra people influenced the decisions and token calls for committees or small projects were announced. Yes atleast after 30 years, telangana will get a irrigation project COMPLETED, which in the united Andhra will not see the light. Just go and refer to the The SRC speculated this injustice in 1950's in their recommendation to not merge Hyderabad state with Andhra. Now we all can see the fruits of ignoring. Injustice all the way. Two major rivers flow through Telangana and there is no one project we can mention, where as few areas in Andhra can get 2 crops because of the water from these two rivers. Cannot believe that people can ignore to see what has happened to Telangana. You can say go get money from Center. But the money will be again be diverted for Andhra projects. People are missing the point
Hi, I like to ask a simple question to the leaders and public of so called telangana region, " could you tell what others did wrong to your region that prompted you to ask for separate state and what good those leaders did to other regions in Andhra Pradesh. There are more more un-developed revenue divisions in coastal and Rayalaseema region than Telangana. Do you all know about this fact or not. what makes you think that your leaders will make your region Golden which they could not do so far. Do you your MLAs and MPs will have enough funds to spend for the development of their regions. If they had spent it correctly, your region should have been far better now. why do not you all, I mean the public ask about this to your leaders, Have you ever asked about the funds they had and what they did with those funds for the last fifty years. Try to find out, then you will never ask for separate telangana.
WE WANT TO BE UNITED.DONT SEPARATE US FOR BLOODY USES.JAI SAMAIKHYANDHRA ,JAI JAI SAMAIKHYANDRA.JOHAR "YSR"...
Demand for seperate state of Telengana is a just demand and should not be immersed in the policics. People have been deliberately kept backward for decades and all of a sudden when they are on the verge of getting a statehood, politicians and other people who want to keep them backward raise hue and cry. People should understand that this cannot not continue for long. All areas who are demanding statehood are very poor, under developed and deliberately kept backward by others. Their demand for seperate ststehood is geniune and we, the people of other parts of India, support them wholeheartedly. When Uttranchal was created, the then CM of Uttar Pradesh had commented that people of Uttranchal ( Now Uttrakhand) will die of hunger. Now anybody can see the development of Uttrakhand. What is required is a good chief minister like , Sh. N.D. Tiwari,Sh. Khanduri, Sh. Bhagat Singh Koshairi etc... not like Juggan and his cronies.
Demand for seperate state of Telengana is a just demand and should be done, if not we will kill Andhras because our jobs and educationals seats are going to them, all jobs are acquired by them only means Andhras........................................Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana Jai Telangana
Once telangana state formed what will be the fate of andhra and rayalaseems. There will be no future left. Developing a state and creating infrasture, resources, water, jobs etc will be a huge task which might 30-40 years. and in the wake of bangalore/chenaai/hyderabad there is no scope for any other city to developed to this level of these cities. and central govt.s have no interest in these areas because it will not be fetching. First devlop the areas by providing sufficient resources and infrasture and then take away hyderabad or any other place. We don't want to depend on others and we will not let others take on us. Jai Andhra/Jai Rayalaseems
People are more inclined to united andhra as itbecomes more messy when its divided. There are resourses/capital that is invested in Hyd and also how can the water resourses be shared when there is no sufficient water for irrigation in the present scenario when its united. Also how do people say that Hyd is Telangana capital? Lot of people from costal and rayalasema migrated to HYd and are having their lively hood. Also this separation triggers separation of mysore,Tamilnadu, maharastra ..etc.. Why dont the telangana leaders fight for getting more resources from the center for resolving the hunger? Why dont KCR and Telanga leaders fight for resolving the nexalizam?.What are these leaders doing when so many farmers are dying?. Please be open minded.Tomorrow again there will be a split in telanga where hyd people will be flurishing with money and Kammam will be controlled by the nexals with guys and bombs.? Is there any foretaught on this..If this split happens the nxt split is for country.
To the votaries of United Andhra Pradesh I bow down in respect. As regards bifurcation of Andhra I oppose because Telangana is part of Andhra Pradesh. In unity we find diversity. A strong example is our own country. So then why should ythe Centre propose to bifurcate when other states are against bifurcation. The logic given by the Centre is that it is in the interest of the country. I would ask a question what does Mrs.Sosnia Gandhi know about Andhra. It is the advisers who are ruling this country than her. If she gives in to their designs then she would be proving right what other countries think of us especially our neighbour China. So Madam please think once again before you act. Tomorrow your government may be there or may not be there. Already many lives have been lost and peace has become a rare commodity. Just because your son wants Bundelkhand for which he has pressed the PM for funds do not give in to such requests. Let wise counsel prevail upon you.
I am totally surprised why unity will be lost if region is separated and formed as a new and young state. Telnagana is not going to become a country by itself..it will be another state with proper allocation of resources & development programs concentrated to telenagana people. Does anybody know how many famers/textile workers commit suicide everyday..not because they want a lavish life, they simply want to make enough money to feed their families. If you do not see the situation on the ground, you would not understand. And, making a separate state will make ease at the governance and make governamant more liable to the people & their welfare as they can not have other excuses. Unlike anyother newly formed states, Telangana has enough natural & human resources (at present not being utilized for Telanagana people) can be used for Telangana developmnt. People talk about unity etc., why do we need to have any states at all? We would have had more unity if India was just one state.
I am really glad Jagan has joined the rally to support what his father would have wanted and supported. I like to mention that there has never been peace between two states or countries after partitioning. The more states we create the more conflicts we are creating for our Telugu speaking people. By creating a new state only a new evil politician like KCR gets to make more money not the poor farmers. And if Telangan has been neglected. Let us make focus on Telangana for the coming years to even it out. It is not the farmers who want Telangana ...It is claearly the selfish politicians playing dramas.
Hi all...... I am very thankful to Ms. Sonia Gandhi for separate Telangana and KCR who leading the party. Do you know one thing......OUT OF 100 jobs from STATE AND CENTRE 90% of the jobs are only given to the people of Andhra...when the people of Telangana neglected.....U can see whole jobs from Class I to IV only Andhra people are coming......we should be like Raj Thakrey in Mumbai now....I hope now jobs for Telangana will be now........Jai Telangana.....Jai Jai Telangana
people who are opposing the state of telangana what were they doing when kcr was under fast no one opened their mouth and as soon as it was announced at the center then they started agitating just for the sake of agitation they are doing but not in interested in telangana people they have been deceiving people of telangana for over fifty years they have taken away jobs from telangana people and later they never implemented 610 go they are studying here and becomming locals and taking away all telangana seats and making our people lagging behind
Separation may work where a region is dominated by a different ethnic majority %u2013 not in Telengana where the disparity is a legacy of past feudal rule. The leaders of both wings should work out a system of power and resource sharing. Street violence and harsh rhetoric poisons relations and makes future rapprochement difficult. Prostrating to the high priests in Delhi would undermine Andhra solidarity and self-respect.
Telangana was , first of all an annexed one. They have every right to get out of the clutches and it is their right to stand on own. Besides administrative reasons, even corruption and maga scandal like Satyam gets decentralised. After all, telangana does not want to create a separate country or break away from it. As long as it does not happen, I welcome it.They are within their right. Equally considering the population density, economic disparity, all the big states inlcuding TN shall be bifurcated. Congress at Centre shall now give up.
JAGAN MUST JOIN UNITED ANDHRA MOVEMENT,SHOW THE STRENGTH OF MOVEMENT,ALREADY CRORES OF PEOPLE ARE ON STREETS FROM THE MORNING OF CHIDAMBARAM'S MIDNIGHT STATEMENT ON THEIR OWN.A GROUP OF SELFISH POLITICIANS IN TELANGANA ARE DOING THIER BEST TO PROTRAIT IT AS STAGE MANAGED DRAMA TO COVER UP THEIR DRAMA AND THREATENING TELANGANA PEOPLE NOT TO EXPRESS THEIR WILL,ONCE JAGAN JOINS MOVEMENT TELANGANA PEOPLE WILL COME OUT AND SLAP THEIR LEADERS,PEOPLE WILL WIN AND UNITED ANDHRA PRADESH WILL REMAIN INTACT FOREVER.CHANDRA BABU NAIDU,CHIRANJEEVI ALSO WILL CHANGE THEIR STAND WHO ARE SITTING CALM NOW WHEN STATE NEEDS THEIR HELP.
jagan must join in the movement of samaikyandra started by people and show the strength of telugus,he should visit entire state by foot and show to the nation that people do not want separate state, only selfish leaders created this illusion through covert activities, dramas.
The congi Govt mishandled from the begining. They supported TRS just to stay in power with out any scruples and a mindless hasty minister just to please his boss on the birth day announced it in the midnight and caused death days to many on both sides and loss of private and Govt property leave alone the misery to many law abiding citizens and if take into consideration the man hours and educational year that is lost to many it is simply mind bogling. So wake up people of AP and India and dump these selfish and corrupt guys into bay of bengal and elect people with some principles and scruples.Let the Govt put on the ballot 1.COMMON LAW FOR ALL INDIANS INCLUDING J & K 2.TREAT ANY HUNGER STRIKE AS AN ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SUICIDE AND PUNISH THESE GUYS.3.COLLECT THE COMPENSATION AND DAMAGES FROM THESE PARTIES AND INDIVIDUALS BUT NOT FROM TAX PAYERS MONEY IF NOT PAID BAN THE PARTY AND PERSONS FOR 15 YEARS FORM ELECTIONS. JAIHIND
KCR had been rejected by the telanganas many a time. After the recent elections everyone including his party men disowned him. TRS has almost lost its existence. Perturbed and perplexed KCR approached the students, poisoned their minds and ignited the flames. And the govt. kept silent until things were out of control. And for all this the people are the victims. May god bless such leaders with good sense and integrity.
I am from Andhra Region and I am yet to see a credible Telangana leader making a strong case for a separate telnagana.KCR is using T-Movement for his own political gains and he doesn't command any respect from T-Region. If there is a justificition for a separate state then please make an effort to explain to the rest of the AP.What are the injustices caused and who did it and how are they going to benefit from a separate state?
People are trying to break the state for personal gains. To keep the pride of telugu people, work together irrespective of parties. I request all the MPs from other states also to oppose the breaking of Andhra Pradesh. The question is not about Hyderabad. The question is to keep whole Andhra Pradesh intact. Old time people like Gaddar do not understand the current ecoomic growth structure. He is in a well and do not understand and know the sentimentals of the people living outside of it. Political unemployment had given people like KCR to do blackmailing tactics. Otherwise there is no existence for them.
To know more about Telangana just do a google search on "TelanganaFAQ"
KCR knows he can't be CM in untied AP. For his selfish motives he started the split. It is absurd to say Telangana not developed. Isn't Hyd in Telangana and isn't best developed in AP. Morons in Telangana should know that there people from so many other states live there. Will u blame Tamil etc in Hyd for non development of rest of Telangan? Fools rule
retards like sailaja spout rubbish without understanding ground realities. Go outside hyd and see how the people of Telangana are oppressed and robbed by your andhras. Other people live in Hyd and not in andhra because Telangana people are more open-minded and cosmopolitan than the narrow minded andhras.
Hailing late Chief ministers N T Rama and Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for keeping Telugu-speaking people united, Rajagopal demanded that Naidu
The content of YSR'son Jaganmohan of united Andhra is justified and greatly needed in view of maintaining integrity of the country. Demands of separate states for Bundelkhand, West UP, Boroland, Gorkhaland, Purvanchal and so on are very dangerous signal for the country and the people of India. The vulnerability of such demands cannot be ignored in a democratic country like India.
What do you expect the people to do when their voice and plight goes unheard. Focussing only on a section of the state and developing it and isolating and neglecting the rest will result in what is happening in the state of AP. If the people of Telengana were treated and given the privileges of what the rest of Andhra enjoys, AP would not see this day..Period.
Do not give blanket statements like Telangana not treated properly. I had tough childhood but become successful. What does MPs and MLA's are doing from Telangana ? They are sleeping on the wheel? India is free country and all are given same rights.
why separate state demands crop up again again? There is no formala or system for formation of a state. The bad practice was put in practice by certain short sighted political parties previosly. And unfortunatly the present regime has follen in the trap of a group of so called advisers. Now the leaders has to take some urgent steps keeping in mind the entire nation. Not fall in the trap of a group of people.Go root cause of demand. One man is prepared to sacrify his life for a solving a problem of a region, national leaders has to apply their mind to the cause of problem and not to save the individuals. Their may be similar problem in other parts of country and due to lack of leadership or some other reasons it is not highlighted, it can't be ignored. People want to know the separate states be formed because of undevelopment or cultural, social diffrances in the state inspite of same speaking language or hue and cry of some unemployed leaders?
Cong MPs from Telangana should remember that late Dr. YSR campaighned in Andhra Region , during the recent elections in April, 2009, with United Andhra slogan. Therefore Jagan is right.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy`s to day action appears to be interesting. It gives the feeling is it his own or any body behind this? It will mobilise an overwhelming support for him from the Andhra and Seema people first. Now the entire movement will galvanise towards him and he may take a lead role in the Samaikya Andhra movement; it has the primary interest to keep or not to loose the city of Hyderabad which is required for all investors there and will satisfy all the settlers from Andhra and Seema regions in Hyderabad. Now the question arises, has he done this act with out the blessings of high command; for the reasons (1) to make a situation for a solution on Hyderabad issue (2) to check/retard the growing influence in Andhra and Seema regions towards Telugu Desam which is trying to improve its image in the region after its announcement for separation of Telangana. Any thing can happen; after all it is politics! GOD BLESS ANDHRA PRADESH
Will the 'high-command' dare to do this now? Even when he openly expressed and displayed his displeasure at not being made the CM, like a churlish man, Jagan was not reprimanded. I guess with the Congress purse strings in the hands of the late YSR and now with his 'friend' KVP Rao, Soniaji and the other powers that be in the 'high-command' know they cannot ruffle feathers.
What high-command? It is high time Indian politicians stop using words like high-command. It sounds like a Soviet-style politburo sitting in some remote place controlling the buttons of what happens every where in the country. It is so out of touch with the real world where leaders need to be on the ground to get a pulse from the street rather than some high-command politburo member sitting in Delhi.
He stand for people of ANDHRA PRADESH.Even if YSR is here he will do same thing. It's not against of Central govt. Here the central govt did a mistake. He is a MP of Congress means that he should accept all the wrong steps of govt? Why to remove him even other MPs MLAs also resigned yes or not.
The ongoing protests against the TELANGANA is welcome, but in a non-voilence way. Every one has the right to express his/her own words. Now, the issue, has ignited the fire between the regions. The sudden statement of Mr. Chidambaram, in the house was the main reason to it. He announced it even not conveying it the AP CM Mr. Rosaiah, is a blunder mistake. The statement made by Mr. Y.S. Jagan, is welcome and we support it.
