The United States said there is no justification for the murder of innocents and expressed its ‘deepest sympathies’ to the government and the people of India.

"The United States stands with the government and people of India in their ongoing fight to eliminate the scourge of terrorism, and to ensure an open, democratic, peaceful, and prosperous society," US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.

Republican Co-Chair of the Congressional India Caucus on India and Indian Americans, Joe Wilson, called the bombings ‘senseless’.

The Indian community organisations in the US expressed shock and appealed to people of all faiths to stay united to defeat the terrorists.

In neighbouring Canada, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Bernier said his country stands ‘firmly united with the government of India, a proud and strong democracy, in condemning these acts of terror’.

"Canada and India have a shared commitment to freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. Among our mutual priorities is close cooperation to fight terrorism," he said.

Condemning the blasts, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said his country ‘reaffirms its firm commitment to fight this scourge together with the international community’.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Afghanistan, itself a victim of terrorism, understood the pain of India.

"Killing innocent people is not justified in any religion and culture and those who killed people through the bombings in Jaipur are no doubt terrorists and the enemy of mankind," Karzai said in a statement.

Expressing revulsion at the blasts that claimed more than 60 lives, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said his country is ‘more than ever willing to intensify cooperation with India in the anti-terrorist struggle’.

Britain said the attack has again shown the ‘horrific destruction which terrorism brings’ and asserted that it will continue to stand with India against ‘terrorism in all its manifestations’.

Israel called upon the international community to ‘act in a concerted and unified manner to stamp out the scourge of terror’.

"As a country that has suffered so much at the hands of unbridled terror, Israel understands to the full the enormity of the tragedy. Israel extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and its wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured," a statement from the Foreign Ministry said.

The United Arab Emirates also strongly condemned the multiple blasts. The country ‘expresses full solidarity with the government of India in its measures against terrorism," Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan said.
