Jawan absconding with 3 rifles joins LeT in JK

Jammu An army jawan, who deserted the army and fled with three rifles and ammunition in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, has joined Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT), police said.

Zaffarullah Khan Parray of Behlulia, Doda escaped from Anta camp in Dachan area with 2 AK rifles, one insas rifle, 5 AK magazines, 2 insas magazines and some ammunition during the night, police said.

The army and police launched a major combing operation to track down the absconding jawan, who later reported to have joined the Lashker-e-Taiba outfit, they said.

Police has registered a case in this direction.
