New Delhi, March 17: A second place finish at the inaugural Ballantine's Championships in South Korea helped Jeev Milkha Singh climb 11 spots to be placed at 79th in the latest official world golf rankings.

Jeev lost out to Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell on the third play-off hole at the Pinx Golf Club in Jeju Island, just weeks after he came up short on the 72nd hole at the Indonesian Open.

The Chandigarh golfer is still nine places below compatriot Jyoti Randhawa, who improved five places from 75th spot after his tied 11th place finish in Korea to remain the highest ranked Indian.

Indian Masters champion S S P Chowrasia, who has not managed to reclaim that form since winning the European Tour co-sanctioned event, held on to 165th place.

Arjun Atwal, who recently claimed the Malaysian Open title, improved three spots to be ranked 200.

Gaurav Ghei and Shiv Kapur are ranked 237 and 238 respectively.

American Tiger Woods continues at the top of the charts after his phenomenal winning streak with the title at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

He is followed by compatriot Phil Mickelson and South African Ernie Els.

Vijay Singh, tied third behind Woods at Bay Hill, improved one place to 10th.
