Joseph Gordon Levitt to make directorial debut

Los Angeles "Inception" star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is making his directorial debut with a comedy based on a script he wrote.

The untitled comedy will see the actor starring opposite Scarlett Johansson.

Plotlines are not being revealed other than it centers on "a modern day Don Juan and his journey to become less selfish". It it actor's first venture into the creative aspect of a movie, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Voltage Pictures is financing the movie. The production is set to start in Los Angeles on April 16.

The "500 Days of Summer" star is part of Christopher Nolan's ensemble cast of "Dark Knight Rises" and also plays Abraham Lincoln's brother in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln".
