Mumbai, February 23: Citing the unruly scenes in Bihar Assembly, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray took a dig at the Bihar MLAs and said that was the reason why he was opposed to the outsiders.

Some MLAs in Bihar created unruly scenes during the Maharashtrian Governor of Bihar R S Gavais address to the state Assembly.

"Why did I have to launch an agitation to protect the culture of Maharashtra? The answer to this question lies in the manner in which the MLAs of Bihar behaved in front of the Maharashtrian Governor of Bihar R S Gavai," Raj, who is prohibited under Magisterial orders to hold public rallies, demonstrations and give provocative statements in media, said.

Raj was refering to Bihar's Maharashtrian Governor Gavai who faced awkward moments in the state assembly when the Opposition protesting the governments ‘all round failure’ created unruly scences during his address and one member asked him to ensure safety of Biharis in Maharashtra in the face of anti-North Indian tirade by Raj Thackeray's MNS.

Raj said, "when the Bihar MLAs created ruckus in front of the Governor, the whole country was watching it. Constitutionally, the post of Governor is highly respected. In Maharashtra people have always given the dignity and respect to the Governors even though they may have difference of opinion with him on crucial issues," he said in a statement.

"For instance the Governor of Maharashtra who hails from Karnataka is Congressman. In Maharashtra one of the vexed issues has been the Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue. In this issue Krishna's stand has always been at variance with Maharashtra. But since he is the Governor of Maharashtra, he has always been given the due respect which he deserves despite even though people here may disagree with him," Raj added.
