KCW holds annual function

Ludhiana, February 27 Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, celebrated its 46th annual prize distribution function today.

Dr MS Kang, Vice Chancellor of Punjab Agriculture University, was the chief guest on the occasion. He was given a warm welcome by the college managing committee, Principal Dr Varinder Kaur Thind, all faculty members and students.

The event started with the shabad, ‘Deh Shiva var mohe eh’. The annual report was read by the principal, in which she highlighted the achievements of the various departments throughout the year. She also acknowledged the achievements of the students at the state and national level.

About 300 students who held the first, second and third positions were awarded with prizes. Trophies were given to 32 college and university toppers of the session 2006-07. Afterwards, Dr Kang congratulated the winners. He emphasized the significance of studies, and urged them to achieve excellence in their chosen fields.

The managing committee and the Principal honoured Dr Kang with a momento. The event concluded with the national anthem.
