Kareena Kapoor fumes on 'nude' query

Mumbai New Delhi media was in for a shock as Kareena Kapoor staged a walk out of a press conference in the city where she was present to promote her upcoming film ‘Kambakht Ishq’. Visibly upset and fuming with anger, she marched towards her suite when a female reporter questioned her if she would be willing to go totally nude for camera if the script demanded so.

Informs an onlooker who was present at the venue, "The question shocked her. Just a few minutes back, she had patiently handled queries regarding her professional life. She had also commented around wearing a bikini in ‘Tashan’ and now ‘Kambakht Ishq’ mainly because the 'script demanded it'. Though averse to doing so in future projects, she admitted that she would keep the subject and story in mind and would do 'anything' that is required by the script."

Though it was a diplomatic stand on affairs, things went a little too far when an over zealous reporter popped the question - 'Would you mind going nude for a role?' "This was it", adds the source, "Kareena lost her cool at that very moment and rather than choosing to blast the reporter and create a scene, she simply aborted her stay at the press conference. The flabbergasted reporter didn't know what hit her. The event coordinator too felt disgusted about the entire incident and found himself in trouble as this situation was totally unforeseen."

The source continues, "There were problems for Kareena from the very beginning of the event. First and foremost the chosen venue itself wasn't conducive enough to handle a large media that had assembled. Around 100 odd reporters and journalists had gathered in a room that wasn't large enough to host a mega celebrity press conference like this. With the claustrophobic venue not helping the cause enough, queries like these were enough for Kareena to blow her fuse."

For media and the film, director Sabbir Khan came to rescue though. He handled the situation well by staying on at the venue and continued to interact with the reporters. "Yes, Kareena was justified in walking out but Sabbir too did all to ensure that promotion of ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ didn't get impacted", says a fellow reporter, "He realises that the film is just a few days away and didn't want any bad blood to spoil the show. He had a thin rope to walk on and did pretty well in rescuing the event from turning into a complete disaster."

Hyprocrisy by G.Sriniwasan on 17 Jun 2009

As Trevor Fishlock the Celeberated journalist noted,Indians are a bunch of HYPOCRITES.Hindi film stars are no exception.what the Journo asked was right. If a script and role demands wearing a BIKINI,will the actress pose NUDE should the same script and role demands.C'mon no DOUBLESTANDARDS in public life.By reacting public figures like Kareena reduce themselves to LAUGHING STOCK,Ops Do they have any STOCK?

Kareena is right by SK on 17 Jun 2009

The Media must behave and don't ask insulting questions. Does the reporter herself will go nude, if her job demands? Kareena is right in walking out.

Well well well! by Sid on 17 Jun 2009

WHats the big deal? Couldn't she have just answered that she would or would not do it?Its just childish on part of Kareena. If she was wearing short skirts and was asked if she would go for a bikini if situation demanded it then would she have staged a walk off.The truth is that success goes into the celebrities head too fast too soon. I am not a great fan of media either. Some of the reporters are pretty useless asking some stupid questions. Again the answers from the celebrities are also quite fickle. The script never demands you to show nudity. Every scene canbe done without bikinis and nude shots. But this is a selling point and its show business. So cut the BS and run the business.

Cheap vs Cheap by rohit on 17 Jun 2009

Why to get upset? If bikini can be justified/ unjustified then nudity can also be justified/ unjustified. Shows immaturity and conveys that half nude is ok but nude is not ok. Actions of film stars and media is generally cheap

There is ofcourse a thin line of difference between Bikini and Complete nudity. Kareen got angry because she thought that was extreme?maximum. But is Bikini acceptable to Kareena?Since it was acceptabe the journalist asked such a question. One person here mentioned about the attitude of an Indian woman. Yes certainly the Indianess is there in every Indian woman even though she may belong to the 22nd century of Movie stars. But then yet it is too late. Bikini and total nude only a small thin difefrence.

my reply by Arun on 17 Jun 2009

My reply would be" Will you ask any filthy question if the news media needed to? No right..you judge...the same way we judge too, we dont do anything if the role needed to But try to bring in more reality"

Reports Question on Kareena and going nude by Francisco Fernandes on 17 Jun 2009

Here comes the inside of an Indian Women from good family. Although our women in India sometimes do little body show and pretend to be ever willing to do anything but they have inherent into them a culture which will definitely make them to react like this when such as question or situation arises. I was laughing a lot on this incident and I said this is it and it hit the limit of an elegant, sensous lady who showed that there limits for everything.

Funny side of life by Zakir on 17 Jun 2009

You have simply got to give it to the media, they have the knack of upsetting the sanest of actors with their mind numbing queries.I am trying to imagine this scene in my head and it simply makes me laugh.Guys just keep the questions coming and lets see how many of them succumb to it.
