To discredit the police investigation in the Nitish Katara murder case, the defence on Wednesday pointed to alleged discrepancies in statements of prosecution witnesses on the victim's call records and the car reportedly used in the crime. The counsel for accused Vikas and Vishal Yadav said the prosecution witnesses' statements were inconsist and the probe was faulty as several pieces of evidence were planted in the case.
