New York Hollywood actress Kate Hudson has taken to skiing with her family to shake off her breakup with baseball player Alex Rodriguez.

The 30-year-old star, who is riding high on the raves for her performance in 'Nine' and her iTunes hit, 'Cinema Italiano', has headed to her family chalet in Aspen to ski, reported New York Daily News.

Her mother actress Goldie Hawn and her boyfriend Kurt Russell are helping Hudson move on after she split from Rodriguez after a months-old relationship.

"Kate is better off without A-Rod. She had much better chemistry with Owen Wilson. Alex is such a diva. When he came to the London premiere of 'Nine', it was obvious he didn't like standing in the background. He'd show up late to every appearance," said a friend of Hudson.
