Bangalore Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen was named the captain of Bangalore Royal Challengers replacing Rahul Dravid, whose performance came under severe attack during the inaugural edition of the IPL.

DRAVID by VICKYDRAVID on 05 Apr 2009

DRAVID IS A GREAT PLAYER ITS NOT GOOD TO REPLACE ROYAL CHALLENGERS CAPTAIN IN LAST SEASON DRAVID WAS THE ONLY MAN WHO DONE JOB CORRECTLY .IN ROYAL CHALLENGERS . EVEN HE WAS REPLACED HE IS THE BEST

Exit by S.V.Ramanan on 23 Mar 2009

When will Dravid and Laxman learn to exit as gracefully as Gavaskar?

Right Move? by Trapdaar on 22 Mar 2009

It will be a learning experience for Vijay Mallya. He will learn that a batsman with a huge ego does not does not necessarily equate to a good captain. As the series against India demonstrated, Kevin Pietersen is a mediocre captain at best.

Rahul Dravid by Dr B Sundara on 22 Mar 2009

Congratulations to Kevin. But Rahul Dravid could have been given a chance. Perhaps he would have tried to avoid the mistakes of the last season. Now anyway being devoid of the burden of the captancy, he can perform well as a player. But will he be there in the team? That is the question, for ,these cricket owners are entitled to play with the players! We know the players are hired for a price and hence can be fired too. Rahul Dravid is a great player and deserves to be given due respect and regard irrespective of his lack of form for some period of time. The bad patch may pass off and he may do well for some more years. In fact he appears to have done well in the just concluded test match against New Zeeland. Encouraging great individuals when they are down is more important than encouraging only those doing good.

Fake Genius by naresh on 22 Mar 2009

"Khuda meherbaan toh ghada pahalwaan" is all I can say of Vijay Mallaya. Wonder how he raked in so much wealth. A captain of a nation who couldn't even hold his players together or even earn their respect, more so even skeptical of taking part in the tournament, how can Kingfisher fish in such troubled waters.
