New Delhi, January 9 The top two seeds are turning out to be justifying their positions. First seed Vilasier Khate and second seeded Sushanta Mohanty will clash for the title after they both cruised through their semi-final clashes at the Shri Ram Lal Cup AITA under-14 tennis tournament being held at Vasant Kunj here today.

Khate was given hardly a workout in his 6-0, 6-1 win over Delhi’s Shashank Nautiyal, while Mohanty beat another local boy Aditya Sharma after only a little more sweat, 6-4, 6-1.

On the girls side, however, there was an upset as Uttar Pradesh’s Tahira Bhatti fought to a 7-5, 6-3 win over second seed Niyati Aggarwal. She will take on top seed Nehal Sahni in the title-clash.

Nehal had got some early trouble from her semi-final opponent Shreya Pasricha, who took her to a first set tie-break. But Shreya’s challenge fizzled out after that, as she failed to win even a single game in the second, Nehal taking the match 7-6 (1), 6-0.
