Ranchi Vikas Sinha, an associate of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in Ranchi on Friday for his alleged role in hawala transactions and illegal investments.

Sinha, brother of another associate Binod Sinha, will be produced before a local court where the ED will seek his police remand before he is sent to the Directorate's regional headquarters in Patna.

Sources in the ED said he is allegedly involved in investing and routing Koda's money through hawala channels. Sinha, who was arrested when he appeared before the ED, is the first associate of Koda to be taken into custody by the Directorate, among the eight people it has summoned for questioning in the multi-crore scam.

All IAS and IPS officers are creating system to commit scams! by Balu, Canada on 07 Nov 2009

It is a shame day after day scams hit the media and over 62 years many well educated Administrative officers could not put in place a fraud free system. Instead they create a system whereby scams can be detedted after it is well executed and enough harm done to those who paid taxes!!! if this continue, no Indian will be willing to pay taxes!!!

Rags to Riches Ultra Lucrative Business. by Anil Kohli on 06 Nov 2009

There is so much hype in the media about this case. Going by the past track record of cases similar in nature, we do not have a single conviction in 62years of Independent India's history. We wonder if this one will also die a natural death, will it fade from the headlines in next 15days. This case even if it goes to the courts, what is the time span that we are looking at? What is new in this case, that should give hope to Indians that things are changing or have changed for the better. We have plenty of other politicians facing corruption cases all that we have seen is they are elected repeatedly and the cases remain pending. The corruption is part and parcel of our life and nothing is going to change, for this affects those who join politics to serve the people and the country. The looting and plundering starts moment they are declared elected. What great service they render to the people and the country. VANDE MATARAM
