LIC Housing Finance Q3 net jumps 43%

New Delhi LIC Housing Finance today reported 43 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 305.69 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The housing finance company had a net profit of Rs 213.49 crore in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal.

The total income for the quarter was Rs 1,593 crore, up 18 per cent from Rs 1,354 crore clocked in the year-ago period, LIC Housing Finance said in a statement.

During third quarter ended December 31, 2011, LIC Housing Finance sanctioned individual loans worth Rs 6,009 crore, higher than Rs 5,302 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Besides it disbursed individual loans worth Rs 4,568 crore during the three month period, up from Rs 4,215 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Shares of LIC Housing Finance closed 2.23 per cent lower at Rs 246.05 on the BSE.
