LMA organises seminar on effective management

Ludhiana, February 12 ‘Organisational processes produce effective managers’. This was stated by D L Sharma, President and Executive Director, Vardhman Textiles Ltd, during a lecture organized by Ludhiana Management Association (LMA) at GNIMT.

Dr K N S Kang, General Secretary, welcomed the speaker, guests and members of the association. V K Goyal, Senior Vice President, introduced the speaker to the audience. Delivering the opening remarks, Dr Kang said that forming organizational processes is a tedious task, and requires involvement of everybody in the organization.

Speaking on the occasion, D L Sharma said that with the growth of the organizations, it becomes essential to frame processes and set formats for various business activities. Sharma pointed out that with well-framed processes, the manager’s effectiveness increases multiple times.

Sharma further explained that management and leadership are the two distinct entities of any business. He said, “Once we become a manager in any organisation, we should keep trying to lead set of people processes and innovations, which in turn can prove highly helpful for individuals and the organization.”

Sharma took live examples of Vardhman’s organizational processes such as their HR process, production process, sales and distribution process, training process etc. Sharma also suggested that the industry to train their managers inhouse, so that they transform themselves from an effective manager to an effective leader of the organization.

Sharma also emphasized that no matter what the size of the organization, the processes help the managers to grow and evolve effectively.

In his presidential remarks, President LMA Anil Kumar said that while systems and processes in organizations lead people to achieve organizational and personal objectives, one must take care that such processes do not kill human initiative to grow and innovate.

Kumar added that the people who work in the organization are as important as the processes, and both must evolve simultaneously. Director GNIMT Dr HS Singha thanked the speaker, members and the dignitaries present on the occasion.
