Panchkula, February 19 Nearly 250 students of the Government Primary School, Bhainsa Tibba village, Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) are forced to attend classes in the open, as the school building does not have enough classrooms. While officials are planning to shift the building to other place, the students are forced to deal with the lack of classrooms for the time being.

One of the schoolteachers said, “We have faced accommodation problems for quite some time. Though the building had three small rooms, one of them has been blocked due to the Education Satellite (EDUSAT) system. Thus, we have only two small class rooms catering to nearly five classes.” The school also does not provide a playground for the students.

Some of the students have become habituated to sitting in the open. “Initially, we used to feel cold in the morning. We have got used to this arrangement now. We are also allowed to leave the school building for playing, during recess,” said Manoj, a student.

Officials of the District Education Officer (DEO) said that a proposal for the shifting the school to another location has been made.
