The administration has also decided to double the conversion charges in the amended policy.
At present, the conversion charges are around Rs 20,000 for every square yard of land.
The last date for applying under the conversion policy was March 18 earlier.
The Chandigarh administration has also got the final nod on the revised conversion policy and is likely to issue a fresh notification in this regard in the coming few days.
Sources in the Chandigarh Administration said numerous conversion-related applications are already pending with the administration.
UT Administration had last amended its conversion policy on February 2 this year.
With the amendment, it had done away with the 15-year restriction on sale and transfer of property in the Industrial Area.
The amended document was christened the Chandigarh Conversion of Land Use of Industrial Sites into Commercial Activity/Services in Industrial Area, Phase I and II, Chandigarh (Amendment) Scheme 2008.
