New Delhi Latest photographs which television channels claimed was of Ajmal Kasab was beamed late Tuesday night nailing recent reports in a section of the Pakistani media that the lone surviving terrorist arrested in the Mumbai terror attacks was "dead."

The pictures show Kasab sitting on a chair and his handcuffs could be partially seen amid reports that it may have been taken in the Mumbai crime branch premises.

His lower arms was also seen wrapped in bandage.

It was also not known when the pictures were taken but some reports said it may have been taken a couple of days back.

The Maharashtra government has already rubbished reports in the Pakistani media about Kasab's fate saying he is "very much alive".

"Kasab is in Mumbai police custody and very much alive," state Home Minister Jayant Patil said on January 30.

"If any one doubts whether Kasab is alive or not, those from Pakistan Consulate can come and see for themselves that he is alive," he had said.

Latest pics of Kasab by Madhavi on 04 Feb 2009

Are we answerable to any one after the criminal act committed by the terrorist.Even if we kill Kasab in custody, no other country has right to question the reason for doing so.And I personally as an Indian citizen feel it is too late that he should have been dead.

?? by Nishant on 04 Feb 2009

Next, someone will want to know whether the terrorist is being given good food. What shall we do then? Send them pics showing him dining in Taj or Oberoi !!Why do we behave in such manner? Are we answerable to Pak for fair treatment for that terrorist!

Latest pics expose Pak lie!! by Tapan Bose on 04 Feb 2009

I could not agree more with John's comments: What concern is it of Pakistan if Kasab is dead or alive? After all, Pak does NOT admit that Kasab is a Pakistani, do they?!!

Hindu extremists want Kasab dead by vikram on 04 Feb 2009

The Hindu extremists who were behind Mumbai carnage and Samjotha train massacre are planning to kill Kasab because he was used by them in order to carry out therir evil designs. And after all they are THE ONLY beneficiaries of Mumbai massacre. People like Kasab are mere tissue papers and now the real terrorsists are afraid because Kasab is the only proof there is and what if the out side world(agencies like FBI) gets access to him and find out about the real criminals.

and address? by Indian on 04 Feb 2009

Falling into trap by romesh.sharma on 04 Feb 2009

By claiming/propagating that Kasab wasn't in Indian custody or might have been killed etc by Pakistani leaders sounds a cunning intrigue to find out his where abouts. Now that Indians have confirmed that Kasab is alive and is under Mumbai custody it will be litle more diffult to protect Kasab from Pakistani spy org/ISI.This has further endangered the live of only living terrorist-witness.Pakis will do all possible to eliminate Kasab the way they have done with his whole family before asking India for Kasab's DNA tests. To such tricks Indian authorities shouldn't response atall.
