Don’t you run the risk of being stereotyped?
I choose films based on the script not genre. Besides, I have done many serious films. For instance, I played an interesting character in Sehar. Unfortunately, the film went unnoticed. I can work really hard as an actor, but all goes in vain if the film doesn’t do well. Acting in comedies is very challenging, compared to which serious films are a cakewalk.
What about your problems with John Abraham while shooting for Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal?
There were no personal problems; we had creative differences. The problem with Goal was that its script changed many hands.
After Salaam Namaste, is your son Zeke Zidane appearing in any other films?
No way. He was approached to become the ambassador for many children’s brands but I turned down all offers. I want to let him be a child as long as he can.
What’s new with you?
Very soon I’ll produce my own film, tentatively titled I Believe In Angels. It’ll be a romantic comedy. I want to give the audience a break by not including myself in the cast.
