A police official had appeared in a local court to file a reply against a case filed by Thakur, in which he had demanded beefing up the security cover on the premises of UT District Courts.
The police official submitted a reply stating that the court’s premises was completely secured and supersonic explosive detectors were installed.
The official was shocked when Thakur produced two live cartridges in the open court proving wrong the claims of the police.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security) later appeared in the court and submitted that certain recommendations for beefing up the security cover of the court have been made by a high-level committee comprising of the Sessions Judge, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chief Architect and others.
As per the recommendations, close-circuit cameras and searchlights will be installed on the premises and round-the-clock patrolling around the premises will be undertaken.
Moreover, height of the boundary walls will be increased to ensure security.
“After I produced the cartridges, the court hauled up the police officials and directed them to install new metal detectors outside the premises and ensure proper security cover,” said Thakur.
