Living here and now

What are "yearly milestones?" I look upon them only as a guiding framework for the world and society to function…Nothing beyond that. But to take a stock of the year gone by work has been great. Many new ventures are in the pipeline. The processes are challenging, but do not create stress…and therein lies the beauty and the enjoyment of work for me.

What have I achieved? Using lessons from the past, planning for the future and yet "living" ONLY in the present, in the "here and now"…savoring each moment, savoring each day, and enjoying relating to myself and to the universe at large with ease…Phew!!

Did this happen in 2007? Most certainly not. It is a process, it is a journey which is not time-bound or year-bound. For me, the "psychological clock" and the "real clock" are in tune and the "stress factor" of time is out of my life forever and it's a beautiful feeling.

The year 2007 has been a year of travel, of work and of sheer enjoyment of life. Christmas 2006 saw me in Egypt and a Nile cruise, April saw me in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, and with it came a peep into the army life (I take this opportunity to offer my humble respects to the Indian army) and this hidden part of India - the North East. May was a "dream come true" with travel to Tibet and the north face of Everest. The vastness of the land and the magnificence of the Everest made me understand the true size of "my speck" in this scheme of the universe. China painted a different stroke on the canvas of my mind…the upbeat, "go for it" feeling was palpable everywhere. July saw me in Disneyworld, Florida, USA. Creativity, imagination, implementation, and marketing, all rolled together …Capitalism and sheer fun at its true height. December brought me to Switzerland and this Christmas I opened my eyes to see "a truly white Christmas in Garmisch - a small village in Germany in an immaculately maintained 200 year-old resort. Garmisch truly offers nature in abundance, at its splendid best with pristine air and an organized, homely and safe society. Garmisch and nature made my heart sing a beautiful song.

The journeys-outward and inward-have been fulfilling. There was no design drawn for 2007. We all know that things in life have a way of falling in place when the time is appropriate. I then do not worry that this or that should have happened and has not happened. It's the belief and spirit with which I sail into 2008.
