The Lounge is split into multiple levels - and you can choose one depending on how much money you are ready to part with. If you want to spend the bare minimum, then stroll into the Lifestyle Lounge and the Island Bar (reportedly the largest bar, area-wise in the country) on the first level. It boasts of a dance floor that can accomodate about 250 people shaking their leg to the music spun by the in-house DJs. Done up in a silver-white theme, it has optical light curtains all around, changing colours as the night progresses. If you can splurge more and are slightly famous (they actually check their computer database to see if you are a face to reckon with), you might be allowed into the Fashion Lounge on the mezzanine level, done up in tones of green and brown, where you can glug the imported liquors at the bar. “We want the well known faces to get a feel of the lounge and our services. It’s not just about money. Our screening procedure is pretty strict,” explains Virender Sharma, manager.
The best and the most exclusive of them all is the Diamond Lounge. Done up in pristine white, only the crème-de-la-crème can hobnob here (the screening process being even more stringent). Otherwise, make a party reservation for a minimum of Rs 1 lakh for a group of 10, and add 10,000 for every extra person.
While they serve only starters, the best bet being the king prawns (Rs 1,000), sautéed in garlic and served with fried leek, they do have an impressive drinks menu with single malts, gin, vodkas, tequila shots and wines. While the cocktails are well made, flavoured margaritas get the top points. It’s a shame not to try the long drinks. Chak de Phatte — Punjabi in name and a XXL version of the Patiala peg - comes for Rs 900 and turned out to be our favourite. The bluish long drink, a mix of seven spirits with a fizz of lime and lemonade, was served in huge, beaker-style glasses, reminiscent of all those chemistry lab classes. Another hit was the F Bar Special (Rs 900), a simple but strong concoction made out of freshly cut oranges, vodka, sugar and a dash of lemon juice. A must-try is the Midnight Hot section where Ms Fantasy (Rs 500) is the front-runner. Perfect for chocolate lovers, it’s smooth with hot chocolate, Irish cream and triple sec.
While weekdays find this place with few customers, it does make up for the entire week on weekends. It’s packed, with everyone wanting to be seen there.
