Ranchi/New Delhi Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda was discharged from a hospital and will be questioned by the Income Tax department in a money laundering case on Tuesday while the Enforcement Directorate summoned him to appear before it next Friday.

"Fresh Summons have been served on Koda to appear before the ED on November 13," a senior official of the Enforcement Directorate said.

Ajit Shrivastav, Additional Director(Investigation), met Koda at his home shortly after he was discharged from the hospital.

"He (Koda) requested me to just allow him one day rest and said then we can start out investigation. We can start from day after tomorrow," Shrivastav said about future probe in the Rs 2,000 crore alleged Hawala and illegal investments case. The sealed room of Koda's house would also be opened during Koda's interrogation.

A "prohibitory order" has also placed at Koda's residence, he added.

IT department sources said in New Delhi that Koda will be questioned on the "concealment of income and illegal investments found during their searches".

A wheel-chair bound Koda while leaving a Ranchi hospital after undergoing treatment for five days told reporters, "I am innocent. I don't have any connections with anybody."

According to sources, the Directorate served fresh summons to Koda as the IT department has communicated to the ED officials, after Koda's discharge, about its move to question the former chief minister.

The ED meanwhile brought Vikash Sinha, an associate of Koda, to the national capital for interrogation after he became the first person to be arrested in the case.

Corruption and literacy by Suresh Babu on 09 Nov 2009

These type of corruption will repeat time and again if people are illiterates. People will get rulers as deserved by them. People of Bihar and Jharkand will get only Madhu Koda and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Look at Kerala, least corrupt among all Indian states. Only reason for this is high literacy. Sixty six percentage of Keralites read news paper where as Indian average is just twenty two percentage. And you may disagree with their policies but left parties are less corrupt when compared to BJP, Dravidian parties and Congress.

It needs chemotherapy and not surgery by arun kumar on 08 Nov 2009

Haryana - out of 7 independents supporting government 4 have been given ministerial births and 3 as secretaries in different departments, why? So that the Government can survive. Take case of Maharashtra - it took 2 weeks to split the cream between partners Congress and NCP. Let me repeat corruption has never bothered Congress since after independence - secularism and socialism has taken the prime seat and robbed Mother India of her talent. White Sahebs left - Brown Sahebs are ruling - Mother India is awaiting independence. 1857s movement is taught as mutiny, Subhash Bose is declared an absconder to be handed over to British even after 20 years of freedom was the condition of %u201Ctransfer of Power%u201D. British ruled India with same set of people and after independence only Rulers changed not the executives. We have to fight for another independence this time from the Dynasty's cruel hands.

Dynastic Rule Must End by Radhey Gupta on 09 Nov 2009

Arun Bhai, I fully agree with your view points. The dynasty has ruined India more than Britishers as they are eating india from within unlike the british.

Problem is not jus with these men by Dr Ganesha on 08 Nov 2009

The real problem is not with these people,,,, but with the justice system. They are looting money without any fear and making all dramas of hosptial etc. If few of these politicians are nailed in jail quickly by our justice system,,,,,,, lot of them wont dare to do such things. petty criminals for pickpockets get punishment,,,, what about these scandal politicians ??

Executive by kmathew on 08 Nov 2009

This is not a new case , Koda steal only 2000 Cr. Mayavati, Haryana Chawtalas, Lalu etc. if you make list of these politicians and their wealth we can make new moden india. The govt. must sieze all these wealth and put them in Andaman (we must open andaman jail) with life in jail. Unless these criminals are not punished, this will continue. The law to be amended - no bail, max. punishment. Pretending as a poor tribal man, Koda made 2000 cr. in two years (may be this is half of the account) People in Jharkand, bihar, UP, Haryana, etc. suffering from poverty, water, medical, edn. of their children, these SOBs are making wealth in 1000 of crores.

Madhu Koda and Congressmen by Chandrakant Marathe on 08 Nov 2009

It will be a real test for Indian Express, NDTV and its promoters to take seriously the Madhu Koda's corruption and his associates who are in Congress party. We have seen during the Lok Sabha elections these media houses and TV channels bletantly supporting and marketing congress party. They may deny but everyone knows it and understands their act. Let them take up the issue of corruption and expose the ministers in various governments if they have to be seen as independent media houses. General public knows how top ministers swindle money but Media houses pretend as if nothing is happening.
