London 'Queen of Pop' Madonna is set to return to direction with none other than ex-husband Guy Ritchie playing mentor.

The British helmer has looked over the screenplay of the film which revolves around the life of Wallis Simpson, the American wife of Edward VIII, and is also helping Madonna in casting, reported Daily Mail online.

The movie titled 'W.E' is the 51-year-old hitmaker's dream project and Ritchie has arranged meetings with several veteran actors such as Mark Strong and Toby Kebbell, who both had major roles in his last film, 'RocknRolla'.

This is not the first time that the former couple are working together, Madonna had earlier played the lead in Ritchie's film 'Swept Away'.

After their much publicised divorce last year, they have had a bitter sweet relationship with 41-year-old Ritchie recently saying in an interview that he loved Madonna, even though she was a "retard".

Madonna's directorial debut, an 80-minute film called 'Filth And Wisdom' was premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2008 and received mixed reviews.

While the 'Vogue' hitmaker is currently dating 22-year-old Brazilian model Jesus Luz, Ritchie is currently

single.
