Mumbai Actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar is likely to be seen in Sanjay Gupta's crime film, 'Shootout at Wadala'.

Directed by Gupta, the movie is a sequel to 2007 film 'Shootout at Lokhandwala'. The ensemble cast of the second instalment of the film includes John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Tusshar Kapoor and Ronit Roy.

The film will dramatise the first registered encounter by Mumbai police, where gangster Manya Surve was shot dead in 1982 in Wadala.

Gupta has requested Mahesh to do a role in the sequel, after the latter helped one of the lead actors John Abraham to brush up on his Marathi.

"I have asked Mahesh to choose a role for himself. Our association goes back a long way and I wanted to continue it with 'Shootout at Wadala'. Also, he is a superb actor. So he will be part of the film for sure," Gupta said.

In the film, John plays the role of gangster Manya Surve, while Anil Kapoor plays ACP Isaque Bagwan.

The film goes on the floors in March and will release in December this year.
