New Delhi Software exporter Mahindra Satyam said it will increase its Malaysian operations as part of its overseas expansion plans.

The firm will enlarge its Global Solution Centre (GSC) in Malaysia by moving more global software development and delivery operations there, the firm said in a statement.

Currently, the centre has 500 full-time local engineers, it added.

Relocated from its present premises to a larger facility in Cyberjaya, the unit has 18 offshore development centre blocks, 1,100 seat-development block and a data centre to host 1,100 servers.

The centre will focus on functions like remote infrastructure management outsourcing, BPO and software services as well as some specialised software testing.

The new GSC substantially ramps up Mahindra Satyam's range and export of offshore delivery capabilities from Malaysia, it said.

"Selecting Malaysia to launch our international expansion underscores the faith we continue to have in Malaysia's advanced infrastructure, rich ICT talent pool and competitive cost environment," Mahindra Satyam Senior Vice-President (Asia Pacific) Rohit Gandhi said.
