Mahindra Tractors sales rise 21.38%

New Delhi Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector (FES) reported a 21.38 per cent rise in its total tractor sales in October at 18,772 units compared with 15,465 units in the same month last year.

The domestic sales in last month grew by 20.24 per cent to 17,796 units against 14,800 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.

The company registered 38.03 per cent growth in its cumulative sales during the April-October period this year at 1,02,639 units compared to 74,358 units during the same period last fiscal.

Mahindra Tractors reported a cumulative domestic sales of 98,407 units during the first seven months of this fiscal, a jump of 41.91 per cent over the sales figure of 69,343 registered during the same period last year.

The company said following its merger with Punjab Tractors Ltd (PTL), effective from August 1, 2008, the comparative cumulative sales figure between April to July 2008 do not include 11,643 units of the merged entity.
