New Delhi Somdev Devvarman’s wait to win his maiden title on the ATP circuit continued as the Indian lost the final of the Charlottesville Challenger event in the US to second seed and local favourite Kevin Kim after an intense three-set battle.

Third seed Somdev fought his heart out after losing the first set but eventually lost 4-6 7-6(8) 4-6 in the USD 50,000 hard court event.

Somdev’s effort earned him 45 ranking points and USD 4,240 as prize money.

At the start of the year, Somdev had reached the final of the prestigious ATP Chennai Open, losing the summit clash to Croat Marin Cilic.

Somdev will now present his challenge in Knoxville Challenger starting today in the United States.
