Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur along with Shamlal Sahu and Shivnarayan Singh, all hailing from Madhya Pradesh, were produced before a court in Nashik in Maharashtra which remanded them to police custody till November 3.
Public Prosecutor Ajay Mishra said the crime committed by the three accused was a ‘serious offence’ and they were booked under charges of murder, attempt to murder and voluntarily causing grievous hurt under IPC Sections 302, 307 and 326 respectively.
The sadhvi, who is based in Indore but who regularly visited Surat to give lectures, was picked up from the diamond town in Gujarat by the Anti Terrorist Squad of the Mumbai police. Shamlal Sahu and Shivnarayan Singh were brought from Indore in MP for questioning in Mumbai. The arrests were made in the last one week.
Mishra said the motorcyle used in the Malegaon blasts on September 29 in which five persons were killed belonged to the Sadhvi. Besides having links with the BJP's student wing ABVP, she is suspected to be associated with the Indore-based radical Hindu Jagran Manch (HJM) accused of involvement in the blasts in Malegaon as well as in Modasa in Gujarat in which one person was killed. The right-wing outfit has denied the charge.
Mishra claimed that following the Malegaon blasts the Sadhvi, who also is believed to be a member of Surat-based Vande Mataram Sanghatan, had several telephone conversations--all lasting ‘400 minutes.’
Mishra said that forensic reports have shown that the RDX was used in the Malegaon blasts.
Sadhvi cannot be involved in such crime, says her father

The father of Sadhvi Pragna Singh, who was arrested for alleged involvement in Malegaon blasts, today said he does not believe her daughter would be involved in such a crime.
"She is a very sensitive person and cannot bear injustice. I cannot believe that she is involved in any such thing," Chandrapal Singh said at his house in Punagam area of the city.
"Since childhood, she had inclination for spiritual side of life. She became a Sadhvi two years ago and the family has lost contact with her since then," Singh, who migrated to Surat six years ago from Gwailor in Madhya Pradesh, said.
"If the justice system in India is not guided by political considerations, then there is hope for her getting justice," Singh said.
Singh, who is an ayurveda practitioner, said she is associated with an organisation called ‘Jai Vande Matram’ and used to travel to different parts of the country.
"Her name after she became a monk was Sadhvi Purnachetnagiri (36)," he said.
Mumbai ATS arrested her in connection with the Malegaon blasts. She was picked up from near Mahidarpura area of Surat by the police six to seven days ago.
Earlier, she was associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of BJP.
"She was a member of our national executive council in 1996-97. After 1997, she was not been associated with the ABVP," ABVP state secretary Kunal Shah said.

In addition, the possibility of some hapless Muslim victims of Hindu terrorism, as in Gujarat.
This is a wake up call for all politicians to start taking Hindus seriously. Over the last decade or so, minority appeasement has become the bread and butter of indian politicians. That is why Mumbai blast culprits have not been found, a heroic police officer is doubted for shooting terrorists post-mortem and a convicted terrorists sits in a jail because the government is too weak to hang him!However, because of a Hindu's ability to tolerate crap, Hindu bashing amongst the politicians has become fashionable. That is why, Karunanidhi can get away calling Ram a drunkard and artist's M.F. Hussein can get away drawing nude pictures of Durga. Mohandas K. Gandhi has completely sapped Hindus of any pride in their religion. Practicing hinduism is qucikly becoming a crime in India - the birthplace of Hinduism and it is this frustration that some Hindus are getting tired of. Secularism's strength comes from treating all religions equally.

All blasts accross India are done by Hindu terrorists. All hindu's are terrorists (except for Congress, SP and Laloo partyman)

Good to see that the indians have woken up to see the nefarious and dangerous designs of RSS. If the govt do not take action now, India will go on the path of Afghanistan and Pakistan where these RSS Hindu Taliban will kill innocent people and the govt will not be able to do anything to control them. Sanjya, Pls. be aware that the criminals in the Bombay blasts (of 93) used their personal vehicles although they used RDX. That is how they were found and the court awarded death penalty to quite a few of them.I guess if you have money you can get any illegal stuff in India.

This is a political move. Have the police established on how a rag tag out fit got access to RDX. The fact that RDX is used points to the fact that this could not have been done by a local outfit.The only connection these people have is the use of Motorcycle. Why would an organization which used sophisticated RDX based explosive use their own motorcycle in the blast ? This looks like a frame up.This case will not stand in the court and then muslims will say that the sytem is biased.
The fact that RDX was used in these blasts is a proof that this could not have been done by any rag tag out fit. RDX is a military grade explosive and is only available to military or state sponsored terrorists. Just having some ones motorcycle used in a terrorist blast does not prove anything; The motorcycle could have been stolen. If these so called Hindu terrorists are so sophisticated that they use RDX; why would they be so foolish and use their own motorcycle in the blasts?
Hindu Jagran Manch is an organization created by RSS. If any body wants to confirm it, please, see RSS publication in Hindi titled 'Parm Vaibhav ke Path Per' ('On the Road to Great Glory' authored by a senior RSS parcharak Sadanand Damodar Sapre published in 1999). This book describes in details (page numbers 64-65) how HJM was created and why. This book is not easily available but anybody interested in seeing the book can contact me. If police wants to unearth the full truth, it must investigate the RSS; the real culprits and criminals.

Charge that Sadhvi, and start calling these people terroists. I am a hindu and i feel ashamed at what these organizations, including VHP, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and RSS are doing in name of Hindu religion. And the BJP uses these organizations to first spread the poison of hatred among different religions and then garner the majority hindu votes, once the region is polarised. We have completely understood their modus operandi. Its not only time for the hindus to disown these organizations. But is time to strongly condemn their activities and push for their ban. No one should be allowed to commit terrorism, rapes, destruction and divide this country in the name of the hindu religion, that has stood and taught the world about pluralism, tolerance, peace and harmony.
