Siddiqui also confirmed Malik has sent him a legal notice to withdraw his claims and apologise. "But I didn't respond to his notice nor will I do in future because he is trying to save his image," Siddiqui told Daily Jang from India.
He said Malik had performed 'nikah' with his daughter Ayesha on telephone in 2002 from Sialkot. "The Haq Mahar was 500 Saudi riyals as I was working in Jeddah," Siddiqui claimed.
"I am simply asking him (Malik) to legally divorce my daughter so that she can start a new life but if he persists to deny this relationship, we will soon move court for annulment of the marriage on behalf of my daughter," he said. Siddiqui claimed Malik's brother-in-law was chiefly responsible for not allowing the marriage to work.
"Shoaib was very happy with my daughter. He visited India several times to meet her and came to our house. Once our house was under renovation and I paid the bill for him and Ayesha staying in a hotel," he claimed.
Siddiqui said when Pakistan toured India in 2005 and the players were feted at his residence, it was Malik who told him that since he belonged to a purdah observing family, Ayesha and her sisters should not come in front of the players.
"Ayesha was in the house but on Malik's request, we said she was not there." He said Malik's passport could be checked to find out how often he visited India after 2002.
