New Delhi Terming the ransacking of a railway station in Bihar as "mischievous", Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has asked for a complete report on the incident in which villagers also torched some bogies of two trains.

"I don't know how it happened. It was misinformation. I find it mischievous. I have asked for a complete report, she told reporters here.

Thousands of villagers, angry over withdrawal of stoppage of the Rajgir-New Delhi Shramajivi Express at Khusrupur railway station, 32 km from Patna, had on Monday set afire the station building and also uprooted tracks. The Railway Board had later made it clear that no train stoppages would be withdrawn in Bihar and that the decision to review the halts was not taken either by the Board or by her, Banerjee said. "Decisions to provide or withdraw stoppages are taken locally at the zonal level," Railway Board Member (Traffic) Sri Prakash had explained.
