Kolkata, February 12 The Trinamool Congress today put the seal on its separation from the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) as it invited all political parties of West Bengal, except the CPM, Congress and BJP, to join the Progressive Democratic Secular Front. With the invitation, the party also sent copies of the Common Minimum Programme that the 17-member Front has worked out.

“We did not send the copies of the three parties on principle. We are ready to talk to all those who are interested in joining our Front. We can even make changes in the draft CMP, if desired by any particular party,” said Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee at a press meet today.

Mamata added that she had no problem in accommodating Left parties like the CPIML (Liberation), SUCI, RSP and the Forward Bloc. “We are gathering under one umbrella with a view to fight the CPM. We are not against Leftism but are against the Left Front rule,” Mamata said.

Extending support to FB’s demand for withdrawal of all cases against their supporters at Dinhata in Cooch Behar district, Mamata said: “They did that to us also. It’s their police and their party cadre who commit crimes but they put those ones who suffer in the dock.”

Commenting on whether the TMC was keen on joining Gana (mass) Committees at the grassroots level, as mooted by the SUCI today, Mamata said she was not ready to join any other front or alliance but was open to talking to all parties.
