Maneka Gandhi launches community radio at School

Chandigarh, November 30 Maneka Gandhi, Chairperson, People For Animals (PFA) launched the People for Animal (PFA) Compassion Award at Vivek High School, on Friday. She also launched the community radio service, managed by the school. The PFA award will be given to a student at the end of the academic session on the basis of a proforma sent by the school. The final selection will be conducted by the PFA. She asked the students to show compassion towards animals, learn to co-exist harmoniously and follow the motto ‘Live and help live’.

Maneka Gandhi formally inaugurated a special programme on the community radio sevice titled ‘Heads and Tails’. The programme will be aired on Wednesdays and Fridays at Vivek 90.4 FM. Aneesha Bedi, Inayat Khosla and Ritika, students of Vivek High also interviewed Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the school had sent a circular to all students, informing them that the canteen would remain closed. Sources said that the move was done to showcase that the school does not encourage junk food.

However, School Principal, Daman Duggal said, “We had changed the timings of the canteen, due to the ongoing sports meet.”
