The Railway Minister, who all along has maintained that Manmohan Singh was the UPA candidate, on Tuesday sang a different tune against the backdrop of his party RJD and the Congress going their own ways to fight the elections in Bihar.
"UPA is a confederation of secular parties and does not belong only to the Congress. We will sit together (after the elections are over) to chalk out a common minimum programme and in consultation with all our partners select a leader who will be the prime minister," Prasad told reporters in Patna.
"The UPA will form its government and there is no no doubt about it. But, indeed, the people in the state Congress leadership misled Sonia Gandhi about their strength as a result of which the party fielded candidates in so many places against us.
"These people will not be able to show their faces to the Congress president after the elections," he said.
Asked about the strained relations between the RJD-LJP alliance in Bihar and the Congress, Prasad said, "These things are natural during elections. Do you expect us to worship each other. There is a famine of candidates in the Congress, which is busy rebuilding and reviving its organisation. But despite the presence of Congress candidates in the fray in large numbers against nominees of secular parties the NDA will be wiped out," he said.
Referring to state Congress President Anil Kumar Sharma's demand for an inquiry into his alleged role in shielding perpetrators of Bhagalpur communal riots, Lalu shot back, "Those in the Congress levelling such unfounded allegations will land themselves in trouble. Was the Congress in power in the state in 1989 or I? Everybody knows it was the Congress. It was my government that booked the perpetrators and got them convicted," he said.
The RJD president accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of setting up a judicial commission to probe the Bhagalpur riots only to ensure that NDA's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani's name as one of those who fanned communal tension at Bhagalpur was removed.
Asked why he had joined forces with Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party which had formed an alliance with Kalyan Singh, who was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister when the Babri mosque was demolished, Prasad said," Kalyan Singh is not part of RJD-LJP-SP Fourth Front."
About his relationship with the Left, the RJD leader said the CPM backed the UPA government in time of distress, but there was no understanding between the Fourth Front and the Left parties at the moment.
On the Bihar Chief Minister's allegation that the RJD and Congress were deliberately confusing the voters, he shot back saying, "Nitish is himself confused....He is a fused bulb."

After what I read Manmohan Singh should be dismissed from poitics, a Indian PM asking autograph from USA President is humiliating to India. So is a country PM obeying party Presidents orders.(who by the way is Italy born)

Dr Manmohan Singh is no doubt a great economist and a scholar but as Prime Minister, I feel, he has not delivered.His agenda has been reminding people of Babri Masjid demolition and the delivery of first morsel for the Minorities from the National resources.Does'nt this indicate a myopic vision.If he had been strong in tackling terrorism the accused in attack on Parliament Afzal Guru would have been hanged by now and this would have sent a stern message to the Terrorists and attack like 26/11 may not have taken place.This sort of minorities appeasement is doing the Country a great harm.He certainly does not deserve another term.
Here we have a very suitable candidate for PM chair. Who doesn't even be able to say where he is today. What a sorry situation. He is still a cabinet minister in the congress ministry.This also shows congress's downhill fall. Which is faster than expected. A party which was ruling the country for 61 years or so, now at the mercy of crooks like Lalu......and left bigots...

Laloo is absolutely right. Afterall Congree did not go for nation-wide seat adjustments with its partners. So what matters is who get how many seats.But watch Mayavati. Make no mistake about it. She is not beating around the bush like the Pawars and Laloos and Paswans. After Manmohan and Advani, she is the one who made the intentions clear. So she has a headstart over others. And she has tried a new strategy in vote catching. By tying up two ends of social strata she is drawing a full circle. Others are trying out stale ideas.
Anil kumar Rathore remarks on BJP and Sangh parivar is like Sour grape story.Probably he did not get the share of the loot or the petrol pump allotments during NDA rule.THere is nothing wrong that some of the party supporters got out of way allotment as evry party has to keep their flocks happy and same is case with BJP.But definitely they are atleast more fair in distribution and even non BJP people were also allotted.But in the case of UPA scams you may have to wait till BJP come to power to know the magnitude wether in the case of nuclear deal,military purchase and ofcourse on crude import.People like Anil who see everything thru jaundiced eye should understand that only because of BJP or RSS the vestige of Hinduism is surviving in India as the Italian mafia under Sonia has very cleverly used the medias to divide and destroy anything related to Sanantana Dharma.
How the numbers are going to fall in place after the election is not known. But one can work out adding and substracting various combinations keeping in mind the various synergies and frictions inherent in such groupings. There will be invisible pulls and pushes that will be exercised from lobbying cartels operating from inside and outside the country.The foremost possibility being visualised today is a Government of UPA (without Mr. Manmohan Singh) and Mr. Sharad Pawar as PM (not as NCP leader but as the leader of a united Congress Party). As usual, LEFT parties will have no difficulty in supporting this combination.For promoting Mr. Sharad Pawar, a Maharashtrian to the PMs post, Shiv Sena can also move away from BJP and join the UPA. I wish all the best for such an alliance and future government.
With a slipper hurled at his head by his own BJP leader, Advani must be out of his mind.Imagine, even his own leaders do not like him. It may seem that the loot of Kandahar and Petrol Pumps was not equally divided. Is this the reason why pramod Mahajan was murdered b his own brother?
If Lalu is not happy with his association in UPA why the hail he continues to be Minister in Mr Man Mamohan's cabinet ? He should quit immediately and then air his views against the leader he is presently working. If Lalu does not quit Mr PM should throw him out at once.
RSS makes its cadres believe, that they are working for the cause of Hinduism. Some of them are made to believe, that they are advisers like 'Chanakya'. With these manouevres the inner circle of RSS which burped most of the petrol pumps etc. make a fool of true and devoted person who mean well for the nation India. RSS tries to capture business persons, who like anyone else look for a post to impress their social circles. By naming peoples as General Secretaries, International leaders,Working Presidents, International Trustee's etc. they make a fool out of them.In this way they not only collect huge sums of funds which goes into the pocket of a few. This organisation is like the Pakistani LeT, or the Afghanistani Al-Qaida or the Beirut based Hizbollah. The aim is to run the nation as Hitler did for Germany. Anyone do so ever does not obey is either shot or punished. These kind of organisations are very dangerous as democracy is their worst enemy.

Mr Anail, I cannot believe that you being a Hindu should be so ignorant about RSS. I am a christian but I blieve India future is only in the hands of these people if 0.1% of us become like them then India will be one of the strongest nation in the world. I advise you to join their Shakhas and learn their way of working then criticise rather than based on your knowledge on the RSS detractor.

You can not even one mention one party in India which has a vision towards a better tomorrow. All Parties are only for power and use devious means to achieve this end. No party is ideological driven and all that they stand for is power and pelf. If a true democratic process has to take roots in this Country, then it is time that our Country is handed over to the Military for a duration of five years to teach a lesson to these politicians who take the citizens for a ride.

Only the other day, Italian slippers were hurled on Advani's head. It was no outsider, but it a BJP leader himself who took the pride of hurling the slipper on Advani. As a railway minister he was excellent. We need to give him a chance to Lalu to see what he is doing as PM. why not give give hime a chance. Sharad pawar is a moneyu minded business man and can not be a good PM. otherwise leave MMS as it is.
