The convention will be held a day before Muslim clerics from all over the country will meet at Delhi’s Jama Masjid to discuss the issue of terrorism.
Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Ahamed Bukhari, who is organising the Delhi gathering, however, claimed Chief Minister Mayawati had hurriedly planned the convention “in desperation”. According to him, Mayawati decided to hold the convention after getting to know of the Delhi meet, for which invitations had been sent out in September.
Bukhari said he had invited clerics from across the country, including Lucknow, Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Deoband, Varanasi and Azamgarh.
The common invitees at the two functions include the chairman of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Rabe Hasni Nadwi, Naib Imam of Lucknow’s Aishbagh Eidgah and AIMPLB’s member Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, prominent Shia cleric Kalbe Jawad and the head of Darul-Ulm-Warsia Maulana Iqbal Quadari. Maulana Nadwi may not be able to attend either because of his illness. BSP national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra had called on him on Saturday and requested him to send his representative at the party’s convention.
Common invitee like Rashid Farangi Mahali, however, is not ready to link the two functions. “While BSP’s convention is siyasi (political), the meet that Bukhari has organised is an attempt to unite the Muslim community members. Thus, I plan to participate in both the functions. At present, Mayawati needs the Muslim community. We hope she will take steps for the betterment of the Muslim community after our discussion,” he said.
Maulana Iqbal Quadari, who is associated with the Darul-Ulm-Warsia, said BSP convention has been organised “in haste”. “Today, Public Works Department Minister Naseemuddin invited me to attend the convention. I have requested him to provide grants to 400 madarsas,” he said. He will also attend both the meets. Sources in the BSP said all the party MLAs will be present at the convention. “We expect participation of about 4,000 people,” said a source.

Infact its not the Muslims that need any discussion for their problems. It is need of actually rest of the people of India to hold a discussion for how to avoid problems created due to refusal of Muslims to integrate in mainstream of india. Every Crime whether it is petty robbery or smuggling or drug running you name it and Muslims are in the forefront. Inspite of there 150 million strong numbers they take pride in calling themselves minority. This is all nothing but our political parties have stooped so low to get their votes this is bound to happen. Nobody can help India to come out of this mess in near future.
Tone and tenor of Mr Mantri's comment about the so called alienation of muslim with national mainstream is concerned. Mr Mantri the problem lies with the mindset of a section of people who never thinks muslim as citizen. So far as putting or bradishing muslims as concerned , kindly go through the statistics and then you will get the inspired. Talk about the mafia in VHP, RSS AND BJP. You will get the answer. Mafia endorsed by State Police is not criminal while a muslim criminal unendorsed by the state police is a criminal called terrorist. Shed your mind. treat Muslim as human being and just remember it is because of muslim's initiate and their medivial tolerance was one of the reason for your survival and existence. If muslims are so bad, perhaps you would have been a muslim to talk about the muslim. Muslims are for India and India is for muslims. Isolate the lumpen elements from your community and Lumpen elements from my community would be isolated. Your views are the ground of promoting a feeling of hatred . Think and answer, have you spoke to the same compassion and humility as you are talking to the members of your community. Indianness does not come from brashness but taking the all sections of the society in the task of nation building. Task is incomplete without Muslim and Hindus being part of it.
