Lucknow An attempt by a woman to enter the secured area around the dais, which created some commotion at her rally at Gorakhpur on Monday, so upset UP Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party national president Mayawati that she accused the opposition parties of using their “pet dogs” for spoiling her programme.

The incident took place in the afternoon when Mayawati was addressing a public meeting in Khorabar area of Gorakhpur city.

Suddenly a woman in crowd got up and tried to enter the “D” area before the stage. When the security personnel stopped her, she started shouting and tried to force her way. The securitymen then handed her over to the police who took her outside.

Out of curiosity, many in the gathering stood up. It distracted Mayawati from the flow of her speech. She asked the people to sit down in their place and ignore the woman. “Inhe kutta samajh kar najar-andaz kar dijiye (Ignore them like dogs),” Mayawati said, interrupting her speech .

She said the opposition parties were getting nervous after watching the huge crowds in BSP’s public meetings. “Worried, they are sending their pet dogs to disturb our public meetings. You people need not get distracted from such tactics,” Mayawati said.

Mayawati then resumed her speech and targeted all opposition parties including the Congress, the SP and the BJP.

Over the issue of covering of statues of elephants and herself, Mayawati said, “You people are unhappy with the decision of Election Commission regarding covering of statues of me and elephants. You have to give reply by voting BSP to power once again,” Mayawati said. She appealed to the people to leave their houses in the morning to cast votes, whether there is rain or storm.
