“Our concern is that of Uttar Pradesh, but her concern is to increase her influence in national politics,” UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi told reporters.
She said Mayawati could appoint a leader who could promote her party outside UP or depute some senior person to look after the affairs in the state.
Joshi said the Chief Minister is either addressing rallies or press conferences day-in and day-out and neglecting the day-to-day affairs leading to problems of law and order and farmers’ issues, including arrears of the cane growers.
She said the BSP does not even have a spokesperson and everything is being said or done by the Chief Minister herself.
Turning to the anti-North Indian statements of Raj Thackeray, she suggested that the Samajwadi Party and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena were hand-in-glove to make the most of the issue and damage the Congress.
