"I am looking forward to spending some time with him at Daredevils," said McGrath, who spearheaded the Daredevils' attack in the inaugural edition of the IPL last year.

The Daredevils recently signed the 22-year-old Warner well before the youngster made his memorable debut for the Australian team in a Twenty20 match against South Africa.

Warner blasted 89 runs off just 43 balls on his Twenty20 debut to guide Australia to a thumping win and bagged the Man of the Match award.

Warner made history by just making his debut as he became the first Australian since the 19th century to represent the country without playing first-class cricket.

Impressed by what he saw of the youngster, McGrath said, "David is a guy who goes out there and plays his game with an uncomplicated approach. He hits the ball as hard as anyone I have seen, times it, he's strong," he was quoted as saying by 'The Daily Telegraph'.

The veteran pacer, however, felt that even though Warner has the potential to fill in the void created by Matthew Hayden's retirement, the youngster should cut his teeth first with New South Wales before being considered for Australia's tour of South Africa.

"It's probably best to give him a chance to find out what first-class cricket is like," McGrath said. Give him a handful of games to provide him a bit of experience," the retired pacer said.

Instead, McGrath felt the trio of Phil Jaques, Phil Hughes and Chris Rogers are ahead of Warner in the race for the opener's job. "I guess it depends on what the selectors are after," McGrath said.
