According to McGrath, it was "ridiculous" to replace the umpire just because he had a bad game and the former pacer also called on the ICC to show some leadership instead of bowing down to the Indian board.
"I think it is sad and disappointing that it gets to the stage where you have a bad game and they are calling for your head," McGrath was quoted saying by The Age.
"What is there, eight international umpires on the panel? And if a couple of teams aren't happy with umpires then all of a sudden you have got one to choose from," he said.
ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed has made it clear that the governing body took the 'practical step" just to take tension out of the series and let players focus on cricket. He also refused to call it a triumph for the BCCI.
McGrath, however, felt otherwise.
"I think that (it) is ridiculous, that is why we have the ICC to control things rather than individual countries," he said.

All these days I was thinking bucknor is half blind not able to judge on the field instantly. Now McGrath comments are silly even after seeing replys of bucknor's mistakes. He is uttering just for the sack of uttering.
Indians should unite to do the following:a) Put pressure on BCCI to disbar any past or present Aussie cricketer to participate in the IPLb) Stop any commerce with products that are endorsed by Australian cricketersc) Do not engage Australian players in Bollywood and if any Indian producer does so, boycott the movieIndia is where the financial muscle is in terms of cricket. By choking that source of revenue would be a wake up call for these boors.
We should not allow Mgrath to play in IPL and if he comes treat him our way( garland of shoes round neck, cowdung on face), As far as greg chappel is concerned there is old indian saying ' he has sh* t in same platter where the bas**d had his food.
Well, at least this tour/incident will bring to notice and hopefully new rules and laws established in cricket so that teams don't ever sledge in the first place. And hopefully the ICC will make amends to treat all teams alike be it Australia or not. If this way of hard-playing-cricket (so called) then let the Australians start playing cricket like the rest of the world does, or else they will have to be left out as was South Africa in the days of apartheid. Australia is the only country that sledges and has a long history to that. And till today the rest of the world does not believe in sledging to be an important tool as the Aussies think and employee. I say this because sledging is the root-cause of the problem and not racism in the first place. Let the Australians change the way they play their cricket, or else be left out. I am sure there are serious ramifications as an outcome of this tour.
McGranth is the always the benificery in the past to wrong decisions given by the umpires particularly by Bucknor. If same thing happens to Austrailian team is he going to talk the same way??. We should not allow McGranth play in the IPL. His bad attatude will influence the Indian players too and spoil the Indian culture and sportmanship.
Australlians think they are gods or more. They can sledge, behave atrociously and are used to Asian teams crawling before them and putitng up with their behaviour. So when present resurgent India rise, they are stunned and make noises
I am sure Bhajji must have not called Andrew Symonds "monkey" coz he knew it would have been an insult to monkies. If at all he should have called Symonds "pig" coz thats what he and his fellow teammates are and deserve to be called that. Well, McGrath is unhappy coz with Bucknor, Australia will easily win the next two tests. He himself has got lot of wrong decisions in his favor from Bucknor. BCCI have stood so far surprisingly stood strong and I hope for country's pride they remain that way until the charges and the ban are completely revoked.
AND we want him(McGrath) to play in the Indian Premier League. Are we suckers for punishment or what? Let's all be door mats to these arrogant players.
