Meghna in sub-junior girls QF

Chandigarh, January 13 Meghna of Chandigarh entered the sub-junior girls singles quarter-final after beating Narasimha Priya S of Tamil Nadu by 11-9 11-7 8-11 11-9 in the pre-quarter-final round of the National Ranking Table Tennis Tournament (North Zone) being played at Student Gymkhana, All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi today.Another Chandigarh girl Garima bowed out as Charvi Kawle C of Maharashtra recorded win by 7-11 11-8 11-8 11-3.However, Meghna and Garima could not clear junior girls first-round matches. Vidhya N of Tamil Nadu blanked Garima 11-5 11-9 11-5 while Esha Monga of Delhi outpointed Meghna 11-5 11-7 11-8.

In the youth girls singles prequarter-final, Swetha Kumaravel [IB] defeated Meghna 11-8 12-10 11-7 11-9. In a first round encounter Ashlesha Bodas of Maharashtra beat Garima 11-5 11-7 11-5.
