Washington Mel Gibson’s girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who recently gave birth to their first child, has said that she is hopeful of tying the knot with the actor soon.

Oksana exclaimed that the couple is very happy after the entry of daughter Lucia in their lives last week.

"Mel and I are very, very happy together. He's an amazing person. I adore him. We are both very lucky,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Britain's Glamour magazine.

On being asked if she wishes to get married, she replied: "Yes. I hope so. Yes."

The Russian musician also opened up about Gibson's wife, Robyn, who filed for divorce this April after 28 years of marriage.

She claimed that Gibson had been separated from Robyn for two years before she came in the picture.

Oksana further mentioned that the negative publicity in media over the issue had hurt her.

She said: "I was just sad, really, I mean where does all that hatred come from? And the anger? Maybe it’s jealousy. All I can think is these people must be unhappy."
