Dubai A ruthless Andy Murray outgunned Frenchman Arnaud Clement 6-2 6-3 to charge into the quarter-finals of the Dubai Championships on Wednesday.

The British second seed fired down eight aces past the hapless Clement, who struggled to handle Murray's serve throughout the 83-minute encounter.

Murray gave Clement the runaround in the opening set as he broke twice to steal a march and kept up the momentum in the second to book a last-eight outing with another Frenchman, Richard Gasquet.

Top seed Novak Djokovic was also in action against the Czech Republic's Jan Hernych on Wednesday.
