Solan, January 18 After finding a pharmacist absent from duty at Primary Health Centre, Drala, Health and Ayurvedic Department Minister Dr Rajeev Bindal today asked the Solan Chief Medical Officer to initiate departmental action against the erring official.

The Minister, who was on his way to Hamirpur from Shimla, had made a surprise visit to the health centre and reportedly found pharmacist Tarsem Singh Chandel absent from duty.

Dr Bindal, however, expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness and other health care arrangements in the hospital. He said the present government was committed to provide better services, besides strengthening health services across the state.

The Minister also appealed to the medical officers and para-medical staff to perform their duties with honesty and dedication. The Minister also made surprise visits to Jawalamukhi and Chintpurni hospitals last week.
