An HR Clerk by profession, the 22-year old blonde brought her country the Miss World title for the first time.
"Thank you South Africa, this is the most wonderful moment of my life," said Aldorino with tears in her eyes.
Miss Mexico Perla Beltran finished second, while South Africa's Tatum Keshwar took the third place.
Former Miss World and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra was one of the judges in the contest whose final round saw a close contest between seven beauty queens.
Aldorino was crowned by Kseniasukhi Nova, the Miss World 2008, of Russia.
Miss India Pooja Chopra, who participated in the contest, nursing an injured ankle, made it to the semi-final along with 15 other contestants but was eliminated in the penultimate round.
Chopra earlier won the 'beauty with a purpose' title for supporting the save the girl-child initiative back home.

I don't think people actually grasp what a big deal it is for Miss Gibraltar to win. Gibraltar only has a population of around 28,000 people and 6 square km in total size! .. think about that for a minute. We have proved to the world that Beauty can rise from anywhere, any size, and yes Beauty can be found in every country, every continent, but its truly amazing when an underdog gets so far, and a fairytale dream actually comes true! .. I am from Gibraltar, and can say that we are all very proud to be from Gibraltar at this moment in time! Gibraltar is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and you will always stop in the street to talk to a friend and Kaiane is a friend to all, especially now!
For the last few years India has not been able to grab the miss world or miss universe title for just a simple cause. It's not that we have been starving of beauty in our country but in fact we are lacking in good judgement in our miss India pagent. They say that they judge the brains rather than beauty as "Beauty is only skin deep." So take my opinion and for the next time select the IIT JEE female topper for the Miss India title.Because in India there is something scarcer than ability. It is the ability to find ability.

In your article you refer Miss World 2009 as 22 year old 'blonde'. But from the photo the color of her hair seems to be brown! So what she is? Blonde or brown?!
congrats for miss gibralter, but i think the top 7 were not a good choice. my favorite was miss mexico. i think miss world is going backwards , i hope the next years will be better
