Mugdha who makes her debut in Madhur Bhandarkar's soon to be released 'Fashion' said the film dwells on the various facets of glamour, fashion trends, emotions associated with the fashion industry.
"It is basically an emotional story in the glitz and glamour of the fashion world. It was easy for me to connect with the story as I am part of this industry," Mugdha said.
She said the film does not intend to expose anybody. "It is a very well researched script with a realistic base. There is a mixture of fiction as well," she added. Mugdha said she plays Janet Siquera, a successful model in the film.
"She is outspoken, outgoing and bold and a character with grey shades. But, her heart melts fast," she said. Speaking about her future plans, Mugdha said modelling happened to her by chance while studying in Pune. "I participated in the Gladrags event after much persuasion by friends, and won. After the Miss India 2004 pageant, I continued modelling. I worked with Madhur Bhandarkar for a jewellery campaign and was offered 'Fashion'," she recalled.
Mugdha said she told Madhur that she could not act and the filmmaker said," You leave that to me." She said she did a crash course at Anupam Kher's acting school to learn the nuances of acting. "Acting is all about emoting," she said and added that she was in Bollywood to stay. "There is no U-turn for me now," she added.
Mugdha described herself as a spontaneous actress. "However, I go by the director's instinct," she added.
